WWW: I have learn to put my self in the mind set of the character and to
know my objectives and when I need to change objectives or when I still
have the same objective. Also I have learn to understand the character
more by character creation exercises and researching my character and my
play. Also Don't RE-PEAT-ALL, don't repeat something you have done.
Body language, Emotional state, keep focus and status. I have project my
voice really well while I am performing or doing a scene.
EBI: I only stop my objective until I reach it or someone has brought
something that changes my objective, this is something I really need to
work on to make my performance more believable. I make every scene a
chase scene because I need to use my body more and move around much
more.
Play your objective, don't just do something, make sure you have a
purpose. The most important thing on stage is that you act out your
objectives with out speaking or saying a sound. Always remember Body
language, Emotional state, keep focus and status.
You need to look at social and political of your play, Hot seating and
improvised scene, working with physical objectives and working with them
and 3 lines scenes because you are always working on a defined set.
Advantages of working on a defined set
A advantage of working on a defined set is everything is not set in
place you can move the set to what you will prefer and how you feel it
should be. There is more freedom if you work on a defined set rather,
then a undefined set.
Disadvantages of working on a defined set
A disadvantage of working on a defined set is that you don't know where things are going to be place exactly.
Good acting skills
Voice warms, breathing, sirening,Physical warm ups, Energy levels,
Statues of characters, emotional state, Hot seating, Improvised scenes,
create the previous scene, working with physical objectives, playing
objectives, finding useful physical objectives and tongue twisters are
all good examples of really good warm up exercises to get ready to act
and to help you become the character instead of playing the character.
Hot seating: hot seating is someone sitting on a chair and them becoming their character. After that people ask them questions and that person need to answer there questions as there character.
Emotional state: Emotional state is knowing the other characters objectives and using that know how your character is feeling. you need to know if your character is sad, angry, frustrated etc.
Working with physical objectives: You need to work with objectives that are physical objectives, like to wonder, to be annoyed etc.
Tongue Twisters=
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper Picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.
Red lorry, yellow lorry."
